Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long do the Acts play for?

A: Our standard playing times have a maximum of 2 hours performance time spread over an agreed time. Some acts may be available to play slightly more and this will be listed on their Act profile page.

Q: Do the Acts have their own music equipment?

A: Yes, all of our represented Acts carry their own PA systems and can operate self contained performances. Most Acts carry some sort of stage lights to enhance the experience however this is not guaranteed. Some Acts also have promotional banners to enhance the stage area.

Q: Do the Acts provide a disco?

A: Unless booked for a disco then the answer to that is no. Acts can provide background music between sets where required but this is not a 'full-on' disco. There are some Acts that can provide a disco in addition to their Act and this will incur an additional charge.

Q: How do we pay the Act?

A: The majority of our bookings require you to pay the Act on the day/night of the event by cash. We can also facilitate a BACS payment direct to the Act if required. If you wish us to invoice you for the payment for the job, then any payment to our office will be subject to the current rate of VAT.

Q; Do you require a deposit?

A: If you are a first time new client then we will require a deposit of 15% + VAT of the full fee to secure the booking. The Balance can then be paid in full to the Act in cash on the day/night of the event or we can invoice you for the balance. Once you become an established client, then a deposit will not be required.

Q: Do you have a price list?

A: Simple answer is no. We represent too many Acts to have a price list. There are many variables including distance, travel, accommodation needs, experience, etc. Each Act is priced individually.

Q: Are we contracted when we place a booking?

A: Yes. We put a contract in place between yourself and the booked Act. This Contract then becomes subject to our Standard Terms & Conditions and is subject to Scottish Law. we send you and the Act the same copy of the contract which includes the agreed set times and fees, etc which avoids discrepancies.

Q: Is it more expensive to book an Act through an Agency?

A: Not at all. The Acts set the prices reflecting the fees that they command at non-agency gigs. You don't pay any additional fee to cover commission. The Acts pay us a commission from the fee they have received.

Q: What if we don't sell enough tickets for our event or have poor attendance?

A: Unfortunately we cannot accept this as a reason for cancellation. We operate as an Agency where we sell you an Act in good faith. When you book an Act, you then preclude them from accepting another enquiry/booking for that date, regardless of when it was booked. We don't operate as a Promoter business, who may deal with things differently.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: We need to refer you to clause 13 in our Terms & Conditions of Contract. Our first option is always to look at a mutually agreed rescheduled date rather than seeking a cancellation fee. If we cannot agree on a new date, then we need to implement our cancellation policy.

Q: What happens if something goes wrong on the day/night?

A: Quite simply, phone our office number 01506 855555. There will always be one of our Agents on the end of the line to deal with issues that might arise.

Q: What do I do if I want rebook an Act?

A: Give us a call or drop us an email/WhatsApp. Please don't try to agree repeat or additional dates with the Acts. This is  breach of the Contract that we have in place between the bookers and the Acts.

Q: What does to mean if an Act is Managed by you or Sole Represented?

A: With our managed Acts, we hold their diary and mange all of their bookings. With our Sole Represented Acts, they are only available to book through our Agency and not any other Agents in Scotland.

Q: Do the Acts hold Public Liability Insurance (PLI) and have PAT test certification for their equipment?

A: We ask all Acts to have PLI in place and also to have their electrical equipment PAT tested regularly. We cannot be held liable if this is not in place.

Q: Do you employ the Acts?

A: A very good question. When we facilitate a cash contract between a venue and an Act, then we do not employ the Act, we only facilitate the Contract between the 2 parties. If we accept payment on an invoice basis, then we employ the Act to perform at your venue/event.
